These included the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing, and the 1996 Centennial Park Olympic bombing. While he survived, many of his close friends and colleagues did not. That day forged a promise in Tim’s heart—Never Forget—a pledge that continues to drive him every single day.

In the wake of his retirement from the FDNY, Tim’s dedication to public service took on new dimensions. In July 2002, he joined the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, where he helped strengthen the nation’s emergency preparedness infrastructure. Tim led efforts to establish command centers at the department’s headquarters in Washington, D.C., and at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia. He also supported various federal emergency response teams, including the Federal Emergency Support Team (FEST) and the Domestic Emergency Support Team (DEST).

In 2003, Tim responded to the horrific Station Nightclub fire in Rhode Island, which claimed nearly 100 lives. His leadership in coordinating identification efforts and family assistance was instrumental in providing closure to grieving families. That same year, Tim became a founding member of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, further contributing to the nation’s emergency management and homeland security systems.

In 2012, Tim joined the U.S. Department of Defense, becoming part of the 9/11 Prosecution Task Force. His role was pivotal in fostering relationships between the 9/11 community, federal agencies, and other stakeholders as part of the prosecution of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and other masterminds behind the 9/11 attacks. Though recently retired from full-time work, Tim remains an integral part of the team as a subject matter expert.
